Aftercare for Tattoos

The care of your new tattoo is not done when you leave the tattoo studio. To help your tattoo look its best here are some important tips from our professional artists...

Do...

  • Take your bandage off after two (2) hours.
  • NEVER re-bandage unless you are tanning or in a dirty environment.
  • Wash the tattoo gently using your finger tips with warm water and anti-bacterial soap such as liquid Dial. Lather, splash rinse, and PAT DRY... No scrubbing.
  • Apply a VERY thin layer of Vitamin A&D, Tattoo Majik, or fragrance free lotion (Lubriderm is recommended) 2-3 times daily for two weeks.
  • Sometimes tattoos will scab, NEVER pick at the scabs or you will damage the color of your tattoo.

Don't...

  • Put products such as rubbing alcohol, peroxide, Vaseline, or similar products on your tattoo.
  • Have contact with chlorine, UV rays, and other types of infectious activities.
  • Prolonged contact with water such as bathes. If possible, switch to showers and avoid direct water pressure on your tattoo.
